Athlon64 X2
秋葉原あたりではAthlon64 X2が6/15くらいに発売とのこと。OEM価格は最安モデルの4200+でも約6万円ということで、しかもかなりの人気商品となるであろうからけっこうお高いものになりそうだが、しかしこれは食指動きまくり。
なんせ欠点がほとんど見あたらない。これまで多数のアプリケーションを同時に使用する際にPentium4 with HTのほうが快適であると言われてきたが、やはり絶対性能で勝るAthlon64の魅力は捨てがたかった。Athlon64 X2ならば処理速度は高いはマルチスレッド性能は高いは、SSE3にも対応してるわ、なにげに（というかあからさまだけども）64bitモード対応だわ、実に完璧な存在なのだ。
今使用しているPCの性能はそこそこ良くて、ずっと引っ張ってきたが、HDDやVGAの性能が気になるにつけて交換などしようかと考えつつも、今更UltraATAのHDDとかAGPのグラフィックカードを買ってきたくもないわなあ、と思って、次はもう全面的に一から組み直しだと思っていた。そうすると、今使っているAthlonXP2600+を圧倒的な差をつけて凌駕するCPUを搭載してくれていないと納得がいかないんで、大して絶対性能の変わらないAthlon64の低位モデルに移行するのはかなりためらわれた。
Athlon64 X2なら性能的に文句なしだが、いままで自分はだいたい10万円ちょっとを目処にPCを組んできて、コストパフォーマンスの高さに自己満足していたクチなので、いきなりエンスージアスト的なものに逝ってしまうのもどうなんだろうと思いつつ、よだれを垂らしつつ、かなり悩んでいる。

I'm not sure exactly why but this blog is loading extremely slow for me. Is anyone else having this problem or is it a problem on my end? I'll check back later and see if the problem still exists.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
