【ゲーム】米Nintendo、音声技術に関する特許を2004年に出願

(1)オンラインゲームで利用されるボイスチャットをテキストに変換して表示する技術
(2)ユーザーが発する声の大きさによってゲーム内で声の届く範囲が決まるという技術
だそうで、また変わり種と呼ばれそうだが、実際は任天堂の方向性って競合他社に比べてもの凄くまともに見える。
Xbox360もPS3も、演算性能のモンスターへと突っ走っていったわけで、それが王道であると言って憚らない。しかしその方向へはいずれたどり着くわけで、そうじゃなくて半導体技術などだけでは実現できない楽しさを探ってもらいたいわけだ。ぶっちゃけハイデフなんて今のところPCに任せときゃいいわけだし。
完全普及には遙かに遠いHDTVに照準を合わせるのも、本来ならまだまだ先でいい。ゲーム機をテクノロジドライバに仕立て上げたいが故にハイデフハイデフと叫んだりとかしてみているんだろうが、低解像度の現在のTVでもまだまだその限界までの絵を出しているとは到底言えない状況であり、そのくせゲーム機の力でHDTVを標準にしようなどというのは実は邪道であるとも言える。
つーか演算性能を追求するならそれはそれでいいけども、ハイデフに行かなくてもFSAAとかモーションブラーとかで今より遙かにきれいな絵が出せるじゃんって思うんですけどね。なんで自らマーケット狭めるような方向性に行くんだろう。
